I LOVE this man. He has stuck by me through thick and thin. We spent a few days on the beach with the girls and our friends, and had an awesome time. It's so nice to get away together and away from the grind. The girls and I are about to start school and the routine begins again. I will look back on the fun things we did this Summer and it will help me through some of the rough times I am sure! ARE YOU READY TO START IT ALL OVER AGAIN???

Hello!! Anybody out there?? This is my 100th post, and I had hoped to do something really special for this post BUT it's not working out. Hopefully, keep your fingers crossed, we will be able to announce the news SOON! SOOOOO here is a little glimpse into my latest endeavor. I am making headbands. Sound crazy? Well that's how it goes for me! It is! This past weekend I went to Crop Connection and I did not feel like cropping so I took some junk to make the girls headbands instead of buying the generic ones in the stores. Here ya go! I got this little piece of body art several months ago to remind me to not let the junk I struggle with hold me captive. My friend Melissa took this picture when we were being creative(frees my mind) this past weekend. I figured I would wait a while to reveal this one. The fact that I got the first one was shock enough for some of you.

Humbled. Broken. Desperate. Weak. Ashamed. Am I the only one? Doesn't really matter. God has once again allowed me to go to a place where I HAVE to seek him to survive. HE has reminded me of HIS grace, MERCY, forgiveness, unconditional LOVE, and that no matter how undeserving... I AM BLESSED. I have no words when I try to express how much it means to me that my family and friends LOVE and lift me up even when I am so tarnished. I am HIS child. I am so thankful! No matter how unworthy, I will praise him, seek him, beg HIM to show me the way. I am seeking something. Not sure what. If you are a believer, please pray for me. GOD has plans for me, BIG plans. He has saved me too many times. Even though 2010 started pretty crappy, and I don't make resolutions, I want to make a DECISION to seek HIM first in everything. I am praying that this year will be more of a blessing than the last, and that's a pretty big step up! I pray the same for you! Hold me accountable. I LOVE you Andy. You are my rock. I love you girls. You are my JOY. I love you friends. You tell it to me straight, and you laugh and cry with me. Thank you GOD for saving me.You are my strength. Without you, I am nothing.

We had an amazing Halloween again this year with our friends the Hesters. Brent and Stephanie provided the four-wheeler and trailor and the golf cart for us to Trick or Treat in style. We had tons of fun meeting up with friends along our route. After a brief intermission of cupcakes and hot cider, we treated some more and then headed over to another couples house in the neighborhood and had chili and lots of other goodies. We talked and laughed for a while and then hopped on the golf cart and four wheeler and headed back to the Hesters where we we ended our evening.

This past Saturday night we had our annual Fall Da Rah. My awesome friends, Melanie and Jennifer were hostesses with me. They help keep me grounded, if possible. It was a great time with about 30 kids or so and their parents. We had a hay ride or 10, bonfire with smores, and TONS of food. The kids enjoyed playing together and the adults enjoyed the fellowship as well. Afterward, my friends from LA. and their kids had their own private hayride where we proceeded to get stuck in the mud in the woods at 10:00 in the evening! A bit scary! After we put the wee ones to bed(all 7 of them!) we stayed up into the wee hours talking and laughing. The next morning was a great service at church and the music was wonderful as usual. I love singing on our praise team!

Refreshing Weekend!

This weekend was absolutely AMAZING! I truly had a blast. My body is sore from laughing. You know you have a great time when that happens. I love my girlfriends and the different gifts they bring into my life. (Don't feel left out gf's at home. I feel the same about you!!) We sat around one night and just talked about the blessing of having each other and how GOD brought us together and what each of us has meant in the others lives. HE so knew what I needed and that I didn't have to settle. You know you have a life connection when you share some of the stuff we've shared and when you do something crazy and look up and all five of you are laughing so hard no sound is coming out and tears are streaming down your face!

I was inspired by some of the greatest women in the scrapbook industry and did some awesome projects! It's also nice to talk to those ladies and have them encourage you. Thanks Margie for the words of encouragement and wisdom you shared. I am still in awe that you chose me to be on your team. I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!;) I am so glad we had a chance to crop and hang out into the wee hours. The wheels are spinning and great things are in the works! More on that a little further down the road.

Last and most importantly, I am so blessed to have a husband who encourages me to go on retreats with my friends. He NEVER complains about me going. In fact he enjoys having the girls all to himself. They get into lots of good times at the skating rink or movies or just hanging out at the house. I miss them when I go, but cherish the girl time I get. It makes me such a better wife and mom. I enjoy going, but am really glad to get home! Nothing is sweeter than walking through that door and having my sweet girls run up and grab me and tell me they are glad I'm home. AND Andy never ceases to amaze me with his mad housecleaning skills! My house always looks awesome when I get home. They love to do that to surprise me!

Just a summary of the weekend and a small glimpse into my life lately. Too busy taking advantage of God's precious gifts in my life to blog much. I'll get around to it again soon one night after everyone is asleep. Until then, having fun and counting my blessings!

The Story Behind THIS Little Birdie!

For all of you looking for something scandalous to talk about, here ya go. For those of you who care about me and/or went with me, as you know this was a VERY big deal to me. 35 was a bittersweet year. This tattoo marks many beginnings and endings. I am on the uphill climb to 40. I started a new job after being at home with my babies for many years. My babies have started school for the next million years, I was asked to be on two internationally recognized design teams (A DREAM), rid myself of some people that were dragging me down, joined an AWESOME spirit-filled church, and maybe the hardest of all, lost a baby. All of these things have created a very emotion filled year for me. I am also coming back to the ME I used to be. I am coming to understand that "WIFE" and "MOTHER" are awesome honors to behold, but not what defines me. I have always wanted a tattoo, but I am SO glad I did not get it way back when. I had no idea what I wanted then. I am so glad I waited to get it when I could incorporate my family and all that I am becoming. I am also blessed to have friends who stick by me and walk me through life, and the most amazing, kind, understanding, gentle, patient, loving,trusting, honest, husband a woman could have. Thanks for being part of my journey!

You REALLY gotta check out The Girl's Loft! Septembers Kit is AWESOME! I have gotten it out and started playing with it and am completely amazed at all the goodness! So much! So Cute! So dying to put it together!

I am on my way to Scrapfest in Louisiana this weekend. I am teaching two fun classes and just enjoying hanging with my friends the rest of the time. As far as cropping goes, I hope to accomplish a couple of things. I have been asked to be a guest designer for a challenge blog based out of South Africa! Very exciting!!!! I really don't have anything exciting to blog about, but I just could not let it go on any longer. The girls are loving school, I am loving school, and I think we are getting into the swing of things. The hardest part is finding clothes for me to wear and getting everything ready for the day, the night before. I have never been much for a schedule or planning ahead, but it has been nice having everything organized and structured. I think I needed this a little bit in my life. Tell me how your year is going, and any organizational help you may have for me! Thanks for your input.

She then said she wanted to watch Peter Pan, but I had to tell her no because it was a school night and she did not want to be REALLY tired tomorrow. So she says,"Mama, I wish I could break up with school so I can stay up late."

Lillian- Sometimes I have to raise my voice to tell Adeline to flush the toilet.

Adeline- Oh, I hear her, but I just choose to ignore her because she is too demanding.

My BIG school girls!

Our first day of school! They LOVED it. Their principal came out and met them and told them how she knew their family. She is very sweet and the children love her. They were very tired when we got home and now we are about to hang out in my bed and watch a movie. This mothers mind is relieved now that this first day is over, and the new year is off to a great start!

This is what my kitchen table looked like this evening! Full of all kinds of school goodies! We love school supplies and shopping for them. In the bottom picture, the girls were trying to decide who's backpack weighed more, I think they both weighed about 300 lbs. They got to pick their own style and I compromised, I let them pick their own font if I got to pick the font color.

This year we will be attending a new school and our school has a dress code! I love it! We have had tons of fun looking for things in the school colors, ordering bows, ribbons, headbands, all with monograms of course! Little plaid jumpers and knee socks, skorts, sweaters, and white button down shirts! The girls are just as excited about it as I am! They look so "school girl" in their outfits! I will post those pics soon enough!

Tomorrow we go and meet their teachers. The girls are absolutely giddy! The excitement made it very difficult for them to settle down for devotion and bedtime. Adeline's teacher is a good friend of mine and in my Girl's Night Out group and Lillian's is also a friend and the daughter of one of our former pastors. So happy with these ladies! They have been showered with prayer! We have had several calls from friends that work at their school telling us that they will watch out for them and that they are going to have the best time. That makes a mom feel much more at peace!

Meanwhile, I have my classroom all set up and ready to go! I love the ladies I work with, I have gotten to know several new faces and hang out with others I have known a while and go to church with. I am looking forward to getting to know my kids and a great school year!

This a picture from this past weekend in Natchez. Lisa was a great speaker and fit right in with the crazy Southern girls. My classes went well, and I had an awesome time with my sweet friends.

Now we are settling into a routine and getting things ready to start my new job and a new school. I am starting a full-time job as a Teachers Assistant/ Interventionist. I took this job so that my kids could go to an awesome school, but it's not in my district. In order for them to go there, I must work there or own property in the district. I am looking forward to it, but not to the changes our lives are making. My babies are growing up too fast! I found several pictures from a few years ago during Hurricane Katrina. They were SO little and sweet! I need not go on. I do not need to work myself up. We have had tons of fun this Summer and the good times will not end just because school has started. Cherish the time you have with your babies!

We are off to meet our friends and get our uniforms and school supplies. A fun tradition we started years ago. We take the girls on a little date and then get all of the necessities. Do you have a tradition that you take part in before school begins?

Remember a couple of posts back I said I had some exciting news??? Well, here it is! I am now a member of the GLITZ Design Team! I love this line and the Glitz Girls are awesome! I look forward to working with them and their FUN products!

I am on my way to Natchez to teach and crop and just hang with my girlfriends. I posted a not so great photo of what I will be teaching(a new camera is on the way, hopefully will help:) at Scrappin' on the River. Come join us, this event is always a unique and fun one. Scrapping On The River..... Classes

This is "BE FREE". One of two classes I am teaching at Scrapping On The River, in Natchez, MS. I have had several people say they could not see it on the event website, so I wanted to put it on my site so it could be blown up. The cost of this class is $32.00. It will include lots of techniques and a new way of looking at some of the "junk" around your house.

This is my "HOME" banner. I LOVE this class. It was so fun to make this little banner and I always enjoy using my favorite subjects in my work. It includes six pages, and can also be used as a mini book if you do not want to make a banner. This is a very busy detailed class, but you end up with a SUPER cute finished project that you can keep for yourself or that you could give as a gift. Class cost is $32.00. This class is sponsored by Anthologies.

This past weekend was great fun. My classes sold out and my peeps seemed really pleased with their projects. I got a lot of scrapping done and had tons of fun with my girlfriends. I will post a pic. of My "Whoo Loves You" class in a bit. I also found out some very exciting news and I cannot wait to fill you in!! SOON! Some of you already know, but I am trying to get all of the kinks worked out before I spill the beans.

Also, I promised pics from the vacation. I will put those up sometime this week. Really........

Until then, I am purging my scrap junk and cleaning my house. Got four girls and their kids coming to help me at the end of this week and I want to be ready. Ms. Cindy, don't you wish you were here to see how all of this works out????

Just a Glimpse

WOW! It's been a while! When I say we have not been home that is no exaggeration! We are making the most of our Summer. Last weekend I went on a retreat with my girlfriends. I mentioned that we were staying in a cabin at a state park. It was a really relaxing and funny weekend. One night we got a little stir crazy and went to a movie. Mostly, we just scrapped, laughed, and enjoyed being with each other. It's not often this bunch gets together without teaching classes, running a scrap store, or a convention. I love these girls!

Sunday I drove back from the camp to repack and an hour later jump back in the car with my kids and my friend and head to Georgia. Nine hours or so later we arrived at my friends new home. Her family accepted a position as minister of youth at a church on the coast. Their new church family moved them, unpacked them, and stocked their fridge and pantry. What a blessing. I believe they have moved to a loving community that will appreciate them. After we settled them in, we did a little vacationing (pictures later). We spent time on the islands, shopping, eating seafood, playing at the beach, and just enjoying the scenery and being together. We took a couple of days to go to Savannah where we enjoyed museums, carriage rides, music in the city square, walks along the river, and the best seafood I have ever had. Needless to say, we had a great time and I will post more on that later. We returned home on Sunday and I had to immediately start getting ready for my supper club which was being held at MY house. TONS of clothes to wash and some major dusting and straightening to do. That was last night and it was a great time. It took us three and a half hours to catch up on all the latest. They were also cluing me in on my new job (more on that later).

This weekend I am headed out to teach at an event in South Louisiana. I am tired but I get to be with my girlfriends so it will be a blast. My girls are going to spend several days with their grandparents and cousins in Jackson and are very much looking forward to that. Next weekend some of the girls are coming up from LA to hang out with me at my house and let the kids play. We are gonna work on my new scrap room! And then another event, then real life begins..... We are having so much fun this Summer and we don't want it to end, but that's not reality. I will get a little more detailed later ,but just wanted to fill you in on the latest and catch up.

I leave you with just one more example of how life is moving so quickly. My baby just lost her third tooth. It is one of the big front ones and is one of the ones that really marks the fact that she is growing up. She goes to Kindergarten this year and I am just sick over it. At least I will be with them.

Tickfaw State Park..... Here We Come!

This is where my Scrappy friends and I will be staying this weekend. We have had this little rendezvous scheduled since January. We very rarely get to get together when none of us has to work or teach or something. It will be so nice to just hang out in pj's if we want or do nothing. I am taking my scrap junk but who knows, I may just sit on the porch and rock. We each are taking a dinner and snacks. A very inexpensive way to hang with our friends. No Internet service so I will catch you up when I get back. Don't forget to check The Girl's Loft site. Our designs with the first kit should be up soon. FUN STUFF!

INTERVENTION!/ Anybody OUT THERE?

I cannot believe I am showing this, but here is just a glimpse of some of the stuff removed from my junk room. Also the backside of Jennifer hard at work getting all of my clothes ready for consignment. My girls are 7 and 5 and I have never gotten rid of any of their clothes. I sold some this Spring and made about $700 and that was just the tip of the iceburg! (sorry this photo is fuzzy, but maybe it won't hurt your eyes so bad!!)

I hope you all are having a great week so far! I certainly have. Mine started off with an intervention in my crazy life by some of my friends. They came over early, and I mean REALLY early and forced me to clean out my junk room, aka the master bedroom. Confession, I have let that room get the best of me. It has housed all of my scrap junk, art supplies, treadmill, clothes I have been selling, and various other junk for years now. My husband and I have a bedroom upstairs, because I was not letting my babies sleep up there by themselves, but they are growing up and I am more comfortable with that now, sad story in itself, anyway.... where was I? So after about ten bags to Goodwill, several bags of stuff that they called "garbage" and I called "treasures", the place is looking up! Now the upstairs room will become a craft and scrap room for my girls and myself. Something we desperately need. That's all we do and we love to CREATE together. It's gonna free up tons of space! I have gotten the before shots, but I don't think that I am brave enough to to show them. These girls are troopers. Even they were wringing their hands about half way through! They are gonna come back in a week or so and help me finish it off! I hate to leave things undone, but a cropping weekend and a family vacation in the midst of it all cannot be helped! You know you have an awesome friendship when they volunteer to help you do something like that because they know how much it is bothering you. THANKS so much girls, I owe you big!

The Flop Crop

This is a group of awesome woman. They know all of my faults a failures and they love me anyway! LOVE them!

A couple of weekends ago Katie invited us down to her house in Mobile for a crop. Her invitation was an actual flip flop with all of the details written on the sole. We left early Sat. am to arrive at Katie's house around 9. She had precious decorations, including a wreath made of flops, a handmade pair of flops for each of us, table decor, tons of snacks, and a little game that involved name tags and pictures and the job of pretending you were someone fab and famous all weekend. We also had many cute make and takes to do. I did mine for my girls new bedroom(more on that later). She also had a flexible itinerary planned with restaurant options and down time activities. She even went so far as to have several menus available so that we could look those over and know what we might want. Sushi one day, Seafood, and Newks another. All of my favorites.

One of our down time activities was to tour The Extreme Home Makeover Home that is in Mobile. It belongs to a student of Katie's and she played a big part in the renovation. The owner and her daughter scrapped with us for a while and then we went over to hang out at her house for a while and to check out all of the cool stuff the show did for them. They are so careful to give GOD the Glory! Really neat people. I have seen it before, but it was really nice to see the family again and Peter is such a joy to visit with.

Lastly, she brought in a masseuse to give everyone massages. I love it when someone rocks a party! I don't often get to attend something that I am NOT involved in. It was so nice to be able to enjoy it and not be worried with details. Everyone had an awesome time and Katie's attention to detail was very much appreciated. I am sorry I am just getting around to posting this, but we have had alot going on! I got two projects done for upcoming events, can't show them just yet, but soon.

Enjoy your weekend! I will be hanging with the family at a couple of birthday bashes, a DATE NIGHT (double), and getting ready for an intervention at my house. Yes, a group of my friends are coming to help me makeover my master bedroom and scrap room! I will let you in on the before and after if I can get up the nerve!

This past weekend my friend Melissa and I worked a crop in South LA. Melissa and Stacy own Scrap Addicts and the Scrap Addicts Kit Club. I grabbed one of their kits and put these kits together on Saturday. FUN! They included TONS of goodies! You can find them here.

Margie Romney-Aslett and her daughters have gotten together to create a company and kit club called "The Girl's Loft". Let me just say that I could not have been asked to be a part of a more awesome team. Margie developed and designed product for Making Memories for several years until she decided to move on to bigger and better things. She is such a dynamic personality and amazing person. I am absolutely thrilled to be working with her and the other girls on the team. One of the team members and I have known each other for a while, which is nice, and I look forward to getting to know the others. This is a project for a class I taught in LA. I wanted my girls to know what my husband and I looked like right before we married and before our "FAMILY" began. I got a 12 x 12 piece of Plexiglas cut at Home Depot and drilled holes in the top for ribbons. I applied a Tim Holtz mask to the back and spray painted with a textured spray paint. I removed the mask after drying, added a little spray adhesive to the negative and applied glass glitter. After that, flipped it over and began the embellishing! Vintage laces, stamping on muslin and the Fleur De Lis (THANKS VERA!) A little cork, stickers, Jenni Bowlin, and Webster's Pages. Completion! Try it! This project is SUPER fun and makes a great gift. ENJOY.....

Recap of Scrap Etc. Weekend

Gretchen Mcelveen. Memory Makers Master. I have gotten to go to a couple of events with Gretchen and have enjoyed getting to know her. Such an awesome scrapper and how come she has so many awesomely gorgeous men in her life??? And NO, my lions mane did not smother her. I moved away quickly so it did not overpower her.

Melodee Langworthy. Melissa looks scared to death. Could be the stress caused by the very detailed mini album we completed in Melodee's class. Awesome little book. Learned lots of new things to do with stamps. She was "ROCKIN" that tan too! I would know nothing about that. Melodee accidentally had to ride the Marta train with us. I feel that she was regretting that for days!

This is Elizabeth Kartchner! I love her style! Funky and free. We had a great time getting to know her and she has even commented on my little blog! I believe she used the words "SUPER TALENTED" in the same sentence with my name!!! "FREAKED OUT" oh yes I did! And yes, her body is half the size of mine. I was scared my fat arm was gonna crush her when we hugged up for this pic.!

This SASSY girl is Margie Romney-Aslett. This lady is SUPER fun and an unstoppable ball of laughs and good times. I so enjoyed talking with her and becoming "BOSOM" buddies;)! I look forward to all of the exciting things she has got brewing on the horizon. She has two girls that are night and day like mine.

Jessica Sprague. I will have to say I was not very excited about taking Jessica's class. It involved homework and Photoshop. Two things that I have never been fond of. I came away from the weekend totally impressed by this lady and her talents and heart. She had such encouraging words for me. Also, such a desire to teach and share her love for scrapbooking. She totally confirmed my belief in why I scrapbook. It's not just a hobby, it's so much more. I was completely in tears after she spoke at the party.

This is the Oh SO talented and SWEET Jenni Bowlin. She is very down to earth and loves what she does. I love to use her products! I get to hang with her again soon!

Finally, These are "THE GROUPIES". We had so much fun! Ate GREAT food, got beads for our PANDORA bracelets to remember our weekend, and discussed MANY broad topics! I am glad Lisa(crazy nut) got to come in from Connecticut. I look forward to seeing her again in June. Maybe we can go soon to see her for a "GIRLS" weekend in NYC! I am also glad my BFFS got to come too. Isn't it amazing how that all worked out in the end?!?!? I love you girls and can't wait to get together at the end of this month. The only thing that could have made it any better is if Beth and Stace could have been there. We will be hangin' out in the "woods" soon enough!

Lucy and Brittney and all of the Scrap Etc. crew did such an awesome job on this event. But then again, I haven't been to one yet that wasn't fabulous! I can't wait to see what they have coming up. So much fun stuff! Thanks ladies for your attention to detail and for such devotion to an awesome cause. Brittney, I admire your determination and spirit. At some point in every one of our lives we will call on one form of cancer foundation or another. I thank you for your generosity.

It's My Honor!

Being a MOTHER is my greatest honor! GOD has SO Blessed me with two beautiful girls. I see so many qualities in them that remind me of Andy or myself. Yes that is good AND bad! It is just amazing to me how GOD takes the love of a man and a woman and uses it to create a LIFE! A life that becomes an individual with its own thoughts, feelings, personality, and so much more! There is no greater gift! Even though it is very overwhelming at times, it goes SO fast! We roughly have 18 years to keep them in our nest. To nurture them, teach them, protect them. Even now, my babies are five and seven and they don't fit on my lap like they used to. They ask me to hold them, but it only lasts a short time and then it gets uncomfortable for both of us. To think that it only gets harder to hold them that way makes me absolutely weep.

To know the JOY of loving my babies is something I cannot explain to anyone. You only know it once you have a child yourself. That overwhelming need to protect them. Make them know they are LOVED. Teaching them about God's love for them.

So, it is on this, Mother's Day, I am reminded again of one of the reasons for my existence! MOTHERHOOD! I will strive everyday to find JOY in being "MAMA". I urge you to do the same. Remember the day you held that bundle in your arms for the first time, smelled that baby breath, kissed those soft petal pink lips. Even with the everyday challenges they are my GREATEST GIFT! Thank you GOD for entrusting me with these two precious lives. I will L<3VE them, and protect them with every ounce of my being!

Mother's Day Mishaps

Yes, I bought these for my girls. It was one of their happies in their bag I got on the way back from Atlanta. They love these crazy fake nails! They particularly love typing on the computer or talking on the cell phone with them on, I guess they think that makes them look older.

My question is.... Why do they make the toenails as long as the fingernails?? It's just gross, but they love it! I can only stand stepping on them so many times before they disappear one by one.

My girls are SO girly and easy to please. A set of fake nails and a lip gloss and they are SUPER happy! I hope they stay that way!

Scrapfest Class Project

This is one of the classes I taught for Scrapfest. It was super fun and also gave me a chance to reflect on the WHY I scrap. This is a little tiered hanger that I put on my bathroom mirror so that I see it every morning when I am getting ready. I liked this project so much, I did a different one for all 4 bathrooms in my house. All variations on the same theme. MY BLESSINGS.

The WHY!- I do it as a CREATIVE outlet. I do it to document everyday events that I want to look back and remember. I do it so my girls will say,"MAMA, what in the world was I doing in that picture??" For an opportunity to share our history with them. I do it to teach my girls how to be creative, artistic, thoughtful. I do it to leave a LEGACY. So many reasons. Recently I have had some things going on in my life and have heard someone say that I am letting scrapping take the place of my PRIORITIES. I really had to question that. I have come to KNOW that that remark was made out of jealousy and ignorance. Scrapbooking is something I NEVER thought I would do. I was asked to join groups several times and declined, the thought of gluing little pics. to construction paper made me gag. Then I did a little research... From there a whole new world opened. Scrapbooking has saved my sanity. I live in a VERY small town and have had nothing in common with anybody here. For five years I did nothing to stimulate my creativity. Through Scrapping I have made lifelong friends, built my self-esteem, challenged the limits of my creativity, and brought an art into my home that my kids are loving to do WITH me! I am teaching them how to document their thoughts and teaching them to say exactly what they were feeling about a moment, and they are able to see and read MY thoughts.

The Result!- The scrapper world has been such an awesome place to meet people and get to know why others enjoy this art. To share laughs and tears, to support a cause. This weekend Jessica Sprague said to do what you do with intention. Don't let anything get in your way. I am there. I am so thankful for this weekend. I knew GOD was going to use it to reveal something important to me and of course, he did. Thanks ladies for all of your hard work and attention to detail! It was a BLAST!

Recent Projects and Layouts!

This Layout was a challenge for me literally. My friend Maureen is a phenominal scrapper and she and I have VERY different styles. At Scrapfest we decided to challenge each other to do a layout in the "style" opposite our own. It was great fun and very liberating to do a layout in under an hour! I used the packaging from some Prima flowers( CUTE birdies), and stickled those, a Jenni Bowlin journaling tag, my Prima flower, Heidi Swapp Quote, and a playing card from my junk stash. TOO FUN!

This layout was REALLY fun! I think it was fun because of all of the bright products I used. Sassafras, Love Elsie, Jenni Bowlin (the little tissue paper flower was one I did on my own, but this weekend Jenni showed me how to make HER version!) and several other pieces and parts from my stash. I loved stamping summer words in the crossword puzzle background.

I am officially EXCITED! My scrappy gals and I have been working on attending this event since two months before Christmas. Now it's less than ten days away and I am finally letting myself get excited! We are boarding the plane next Thursday and heading to Atlanta. It's gonna be awesome... See you girls soon!

EASTER Fun!

We had our annual Easter Egg hunt today and it was tons o fun! It has gotten so big I can't do it alone. This year I asked two of my closest friends to help and they were eager to participate. Jennifer and Melanie and I had a great time planning and putting on our hunt. The kids had a blast as well. My friend Jodi did the Resurrection eggs, the older kids hid eggs, moms got the food ready, and Andy begrudgingly donned the bunny suit. He was not really excited about being the bunny, but he did it for the girls.I can't tell you how much it means to have real people in my life. I have waited so long to find those kinds of friendships and GOD has blessed me with these women and several others. You know you are loved when your friend keeps your children all day then brings them home, and you come in to find her dusting your furniture. I was once again reminded of what life is really about as I watched the kids playing and family and friends hanging out just visiting and laughing.
Everyday God reveals blessings to me. He died for me. He rose! He has also shown me that it is not always convenient to serve him. Thank YOU GOD for putting people in my life who love ME for me. I appreciate and love them so much. Once again HE shows me how to think outside of the right here and now.
I could definitely go on, but I am trying not to drag it out. Here are a few pics from our Happy Day.

Today was my due date for our third child. I find myself being a little melancholy but then I remember that GOD is in control and HE has a bigger and better plan for me. One that I cannot even imagine. He has saved my life so many times and brought me out of SO many pits. I will not let myself dwell there. He gives me strength and I will use it to praise him!

This is just a snapshot of my OOMPA LOOMPA and Candyman Girl(?)/Squirrel before the excitement began last night. Next, is a shot almost four hours later! They were pooped! I will be adding more pics after tomorrow , the last two of the four performances (CRAZY)! I say I will add them anyway.... I always get caught up in another adventure and the blog falls by the wayside! They did an excellent job, of course the other kids did too, but I am particularly fond of these two!! I am so thankful for the family and friends who attended and supported the girls. It means so much to us! Thanks for all of the gifts, flowers, well wishes, emails, and prayers. They thought they were something with those FIVE bundles of flowers. It looks like a florist in my kitchen. They admire them and sniff them every time they walk by. Enough about that!

Gotta post some Scrapfest pictures! Got another event coming up and I can't wait. It's JUST for fun! Then it's time to prepare my projects for classes I am teaching this Summer!! I will list those ASAP. We are busy busy as usual! Thanks for taking the time to check in on us!

Meet HILDA!

Hilda was a pin-up girl from the 40's to the 80's. As a matter of fact, the use of her image is second only to Marilyn Monroe! I absolutely love her! A pasty skinned, red-headed, plus size model. This is one of my favorite images of her because she is being creative. In the rain nonetheless. This is where I will be Saturday. I can't wait to spend the day with family and friends. Not a bad way to try and stir up a little business either! I will be displaying several of my altered pieces and scrapbooks that I have done for various people in hopes of getting a little extra work. This was definitely a GOD thing. Literally, the very moment I told my director I would not be returning to my job next year, a friend of mine sent me a message suggesting that I give it a try. Never in a million years would I have had this idea on my own! She saw some of my work and thought that others might be interested in what I do. I am very nervous to put my work out for public perusal, but am pretty sure if no one ever looks at it, I can't sell it. If you are in the area, come by. It's gonna be GREAT fun!

This is my Lillybug! She has just lost her second tooth. I just can't believe we are already at this point with her!! Time has flown by. She has always said,"I can't wait 'til I am five so I can lose a tooth!" That's how she has introduced herself to everyone since I can remember. She doesn't do that anymore because it is not such a big deal since she has lost one. So many precious memories we have. So many more to make!! Just wanted to share a pic of my sweet snaggle tooth. So sorry to say that today is marked one of the saddest of my life. For someone who is NOT an animal lover, that's saying a lot.

In my haste to get my child to the doctors office, I ran over my fifteen year old baby, Mattie. She is the little furry dog on the right. Yes, my children saw the whole accident and were traumatized. I feel like complete and total CRAP!

This baby is what first drew my husbands attention to me. He thought she was such a cute puppy, he wanted to hold her. Never mind the saucy redhead holding her. This baby was with me when I was so sick, in the hospital, no friends because of a loser boyfriend, multiple moves, two births , and so much more than I can even remember. I am trying to take comfort in the fact that she was really old and probably not gonna be here much longer and had multiple health problems. Still, she always greeted me with love, even when I know it hurt her to get up. Loved me without conditions. Never expected anything from me but a little pat on the head. Some would call me stupid for feeling this way about a DOG, and I never have been a fan of animals, only this one. So, today the girls and I buried her under a Red Maple that Andy gave me for Valentines Day the first year we dated. We will plant some things there a little later in the Spring. I am sorry if this sounds crazy, I have been there. This is my blog though.:( Bear with me. I just don't know what else to say.

Creating Embellishments for ScrapFest!

Here are a couple of samples from the Creating Embellishments class I am teaching at ScrapFest. This class is gonna be SUPER fun! We are going to make six different embellishments that will be immediately ready to add to your pages AND you will take away TONS of techniques and ideas for using different household items in the scrapping world! I am so excited about this class because I love to see reactions when I show people some of the unique things we use. Definitely a class that breaks you out of that BOX! This class will also provide lots of little extras so that you can create more goodies on your own!

This is what I got for Valentine's Day. Don't get too excited. It's not brand new, but a precious thought nonetheless. This is my wedding ring that I have been unable to wear for the past nine years. Weight gain, babies, so on have made it too small for my finger. So for V-Day my hubs got it and had it resized to surprise me. Along with a poem he wrote me. We have been married ten years this year and this is one of my favorite happies so far!! So sweet. I love him more each day.

As I am sitting here this morning snuggling with Lillian and drinking coffee, I started thinking about how thankful I am for the blessings in my life. Being able to sit here with my baby is one of those. I get a little weepy thinking about her going to "BIG" school next year. She has so many questions about school.

Next, I was looking at a picture from an event I went to recently and I was overwhelmed with gratitude. The photo is of a group of ladies that I have gotten to know so well. They have become some of the closest friends I have had in a long time. They have brought me through many difficult situations by sharing their experiences and letting me be a part of their lives. I am so glad that God brought them into my life and showed me that I can have friends that don't live in the same town with me. They have given me personal advice, spiritual advice, creative encouragement, TONS of laughs, and just truly built me up and made me feel like I have self worth again. They are so open with love and encouragement. I have not had that in a long time.

I know I am getting mushy, and I have other friends that I love dearly, you know who you are without me even having to mention you;), but this morning I wanted to focus on these girls because one of these ladies has an adoption in the works and hopefully all is about to be complete. Your story amazes and inspires me. Truly Gods hand is on your family. M. you are on my heart and mind this a.m.

Thanks for being so genuine and letting me be a part of each one of your lives. Can't wait to see y'all soon and for our rustic getaway this summer! Love y'all.

Saturday Class at Scrapalicious

BUSY does not even begin to describe what's been going on around here!! I have had so much fun creating things this week for three events I have coming up. I have had SO much help from my sweet girls too. They are so creative and LOVE being in the middle of our dining room with me while we work on "Scrap Projects".

This weekend I am teaching two classes at a GREAT store in Thibodaux, LA. http://www.scrapalicious.typepad.com/. I cannot wait to get there and check out all of Vera's new goodies. She already has stuff arriving from CHA! Can't wait to get my hands on the new Jenni Bowlin.

Here are a few pics of the Saturday class. For Photographing purposes, I did not attach the three pieces but it will hang as the picture shows. This was one of the original pages I started, but like I said, the project turned in a different direction. I will eventually add it as I add more from more recent years. The stamp behind Santa is a little Prima stamp from The Scripts kit, as well as the ribbons and fibers, Little polka dot envelope, and green Bazzill. I picked up the Hambly background paper when I was in Scrap Etc. a few months ago.

The slideshow below was my first attempt at such things and I noticed that some of my photo labels were chopped off. I have absolutely no clue why, but basically I am saying that alot of what I used on this project came from, and was inspired by The SCRIPTS December kit.

I am SO happy to announce that I am finally able to post a little project I have been working on for quite some time. This little book is a TRUE labor of love. "My Christmas Memories" book was inspired by old photos of me throughout the years. I originally intended for this to go a WHOLE different direction, but when I got started it took on a totally different theme. I also hope this will be an ongoing project from year to year. I have lots of memories from more recent years with my husband and babies!

The materials for this project came from the "MOST AWESOME" December Scripts Kit. I truly believe I used every single piece of goodness in that kit. So fabulous what those girls put together! Thanks Lucy for this opportunity! I also included alot of my own stash as well.

I hope you enjoy looking at my project as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Each page is like a mini canvas, telling its own story! THANKS!! I had SO much fun!

Are you still out there? As I stated in the beginning, I am not a writer and have very little time to think up interesting things to say. Therefore, I have had the same post on here for two weeks or so. I know, boring. Or so it appears here. In real life... not so much. I have been very busy with family, church, scrap deadlines and projects, and teaching at two crops two weekends in a row. FUN, FUN stuff. I hope to have pics up soon! Keep in touch!

A Little Peek

Here are a couple of pages from an album I am doing. Yes, they are busy, but that's me. I like layers. To me, each one builds my story. The first page is a picture of my mom's dad. I called him Deedle Doo. I named him that because he always sang a little tune using that phrase. The rest of my journaling is my interpretation of a quote from one of the most recognized, and my favorite Christmas movie, It's A Wonderful Life. "This ANGEL got his wings long before these little bells rang!"

The next page is of my oldest daughters Santa wish list. It was special because she wrote it and actually expected to get everything on there! Santa made notes, but did not deliver everything!!Thanks for looking!!

Just For Example....

This would be me in an awkward position, not necessarily something a 35 year old plus size woman should be doing. With that being said, it was also one of my resolutions, among many, to enjoy the small things. To hear my children belly laughing over my antics brought true joy!

No, I was never a pole dancer, I know all of you were thinking, "Well you definitely should be!" HA HA!

Going along with this same train of thought, another of my resolutions was to get to all of my designated destinations on time or early. So this morning we all got up raring to go, school is back in session, got there on time to find no one there. Very eerie. I thought I may have been "Left Behind". After getting out of my car in my Scrapbook Girl pjs and no bra, I found a custodian to ask what in the world was going on!?!? Well apparently I was the only mom who did not read all of the wadded up pieces of paper in the bottom of my daughters backpack.
NO SCHOOL today, teacher workday. This is where I already break one of my resolutions, Get Act Together. Who doesn't start school on Monday after a holiday???

CRAZY. So, with my reasoning skills I am gonna consider this a practice for tomorrow and chalk it up to being extremely prepared. Therefore in my reality, I never really broke my resolution!! Whew!

I WILL WITHOUT A DOUBT BE MOTHER OF THE YEAR THIS YEAR. I feel it already.

Weekend Wrap Up!

I hope everyone started the new year off with a bang!! Oh its been eventful so far for me, but that's a day in the life of "ME".

This photo was taken on New Years day at the farm that my grandmother and her family grew up on. The house is over 100 years old and my sisters and I grew up going there for family gatherings, Easter egg hunts, fishing, and other fun country activities. This farm holds so many fun memories for me and it is so neat to see my kids and my sisters kids enjoying it like we used too. For as long as I can remember there has been a tire swing there and they had so much fun playing on that thing!!

The rest of the weekend was spent readying my dad's store for opening day. Today, as a matter of fact. All three of my sisters and their husbands and kids and mom and dad worked vigourously pricing things, learning the secrets of The Cock of The Walk, washing dishes and sampling all of the goodies. I am so excited about this endeavor and so proud of him for going in a very different direction than he is used too.

Our nights were spent trying to relax and playing games, but all of the competiveness kept creeping in. Many, many laughs were shared and we all made fools of ourselves. If you ever want to laugh hysterically and get people out of their comfort zone, play CRANIUM!

I look forward to spending time with family and friends in the new year! It's what makes my crazy world go round!!

These are a few precious memories I captured tonight while ringing in the new year with my sisters family. My kids love fireworks more than.... food I think! That's BIG. They have such a great time with their cousins. Their birthdays are nine months apart, so they get along really well. GIVING

I hope that everyone has had an Awesome Christmas, full of traditions and moments that will forever be remembered. I guess my husband captured this moment and oh I am so glad he did! This is one of my holiday highlights. My mother took my girls to her workshop where she makes pottery and told the girls to pick out three things they thought I would like. A butterfly ornament, a snowflake, and a cross. They did a beautiful job. My neighbor, who is a second mother to me, gave the girls money for a Wal-Mart trip with her to pick something special for mom. Adeline picked a rain poncho and a PEACE ornament, because she said I needed a little "piece of quiet" and Lillian chose a set of Christmas hand towels. They were so excited for me to open their gifts. They kept it secret for several days surprisingly.
When I was flipping through my pics tonight I found this one and I LOVE it. It shows my sweet girls waiting in excited anticipation for me to see what they chose. I pray they are always so thoughtful and enjoy the "GIVING" part of this holiday. I am amazed everyday at the growth and changes my girls are going through. Andy and I seek God's guidance in our parenting, but never really know if what we are saying is soaking in. The other day Andy and I were talking about a friends blog who was disgruntled with the fact that people often intermingle Santa and the birth of Christ. For example, a Santa kneeling at the manger. We were questioning how one could possibly compare the two. I did not realize that my seven year old was listening in, but at that point she chimed in, " Mama, Jesus and Santa ARE alike. They are both men who give gifts without expecting to receive. That's how they are alike!" It took me a moment to put all of that together and I realized what she was saying. I hope that she understands what she said and the ultimate, awesome gift that GOD gave us, his SON. Without ever expecting anything in return. That was amazing to me. I pray they always remember that and never lose the joy of giving. Just look at their faces!

What a busy wonderful time of year! I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope everyone has slowed down just a bit to enjoy this time with family and friends. We are making a gingerbread house, cookies and Martha Washington (the FAVE) today, then going to see the singing Christmas tree and Christmas carousel later this evening. I so wish it lasted just a bit longer and was not SO hurried. Eat lots, slow down, and CHERISH each moment!

Not Just Your Average Ordinary Afternoon...

Today has been another eventful day, to say the least. I started off the afternoon teaching my art class. We worked on a little project that was an adaptation of a class I taught at Scrapfest. I had to adjust it so that a seven year old could complete the project in about an hour. Here is the one my daughter, Adeline did. We are using it as an ornament on our tree, but it can also be used as a little plaque. It is a sheet of acrylic from a mini album that we spray painted red and gold. That color combination turned out to be somewhat rusty, which was great. One of our Christmas colors. Then we turned it over and stamped it and glittered the edges. Next, we misted the flowers, then add a little sparkle with Stickles. Last, we added a few ribbons and voila! A quick and easy art project! The girls enjoyed themselves and so did I!

After, we finished that, we headed to town, 25 to 30 minutes away to pick up Lillian at a friends house. Then we headed to Wendy's to grab a baked potato and LO and BEHOLD, I center a deer on my hood like a big Rudolph hood ornament. Now what makes this so crazy is that I LIVE IN THE WOODS! Do you hear me?!?! WHY... did I have to go to town to hit Bambi?? Who knows. I have no idea if he was hurt because it was dark and the highway was very busy. I was talking on the phone and a bit stunned. The only damage to my van seems to be a few pieces of hair stuck in the grill. All I can say is, those of you who know me and my vehicle history can totally believe it! We finished up the evening with My friend Jennifer and her mom, grandmother, and friends making wonderful candies. I cannot tell you how many different little goodies they had and we dipped and dipped and dipped. The reward was a plate full of YUM! Martha Washington is my absolute favorite. Now, the girls are snug in bed and i am headed that way. Another busy day tomorrow. Last day of school and our school party and performance. Maybe I can get some Christmas gifts now!! Sweet Dreams.......

Here are a couple of precious reasons for starting a BLOG! Wouldn't you agree? No, they are not Siamese twins, but they are very close. I hope to partly use this blog to document the lives of my two sweet girls and our everyday activities. I fought it for as long as I could. I never really wanted to make the commitment to a blog and I am definitely NOT a writer. With these two things in mind, I am officially opening my SPOT on the web. I cannot guarantee FLASHY, savvy posts but maybe a little entertainment for friends and family every now and then. Can't guarantee correct spelling and punctuation, but I can promise you that I will never sugar-coat the truth, only nitty gritty real life. I told myself a blog is not for me because I can't just make things up to write about or that no one cares what happens in my life, but I have come to realize that's not what it's about.
